Cool.<br /><br /><b>When is the event? </b><br />Saturday December 12th from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (with some social time afterward).<br /><br /><b>What do you get? </b><br />A sense of community, a networking opportunity, instruction from local security professionals, an attack lab, lunch, and you assist in Johnny's life-saving mission.<br /><br /><b>What is the donation amount? </b><br />$30.00. Yeah, take that training budget.<br /><br /><b>So who gets your money? </b><br />The Hackers for Charity Food Program. This is a relationship between you and Johnny's charity. IndySec does not touch your money; however, we would like the collective group to fill out the donation form in a similar way. It seemed like the general consensus was that we should have more constructive meetings (presentations, demos, etc) than bar ramblings (where we can't even hear each other). I know I'm planning on buying at least two tickets and I think a couple people mentioned buying more than one. I know of atleast five that canceled at the last minute, but that's understandable.<br /><br />Some random surveys were tossed around like. Favorite O/S, first O/S, etc.<br /><br />So the favorite O/S amongst the group was any flavor of BSD.<br /><br />The first O/S seemed to be Red Hat 5.2-7.<br /><br />Conversations ranged from RFID, to wireless security (mainly deauths with WPA), to sebek, ruby on rails, and a pretty large discussion on USB.<br /><br />A couple folks talked about disabling USB mass storage devices, by vendor and then later a talk sparked about <a href="http://www.pamusb.org/">pam_usb</a> which I blogged about <a href="http://indysec.blogspot.com/2006/11/pam-overview-no-no-not-that-pam.html">earlier</a>.
